About

Jasmin Yli-Huhtala (b. 1991) is an experienced painter and ceramic sculptor based in Finland, whose paintings have been exhibited nationally and in Italy and Monaco. Her works are in private collections in Finland, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain.
"My works navigate the boundary between abstract and figurative art. The complexity of the human mind deeply inspires me, and particularly the human subconscious offers an intriguing perspective in creation. My working method is intuitive, and I am fascinated by very unusual color combinations that eventually create a complex harmony. It keeps creation interesting and unpredictable.”

"Jasmin Yli-Huhtala’s paintings and ceramic sculptures have garnered attention for their unique blend of abstract and figurative styles, expressing the layered complexity of the human mind and subconscious. Her work is bold yet nuanced, reflective of an intuitive process that allows color, form, and texture to meld into a distinct visual language. Her skill in balancing vivid and unusual color combinations, with the flow of human figures showcases her mastery of color harmony and provides a fresh perspective that captivates the viewer.
Yli-Huhtala’s technique shines in her meticulous layering and textural work, which she achieves with oil and acrylic on large canvases. Her attention to color blending results in a complex harmony that is both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Her use of canvas edges, with the painting often continuing beyond the frame, creates a cohesive viewing experience, making her work ideal for gallery or home display.
The strength of Yli-Huhtala's portfolio lies in her ability to balance abstraction with figurative elements. Her exploration of colors—vibrant yet sometimes restrained—complements her theme, making the painting an arresting yet delicate piece. This combination of conceptual depth and aesthetic appeal makes her work memorable and distinct."
